What a Circle Series Is
A single circle opens something. A series builds something.
We facilitated a circle series with seventh graders at Yates Elementary in Chicago — students who needed more than a one-time intervention, who needed a recurring space where they could practice being honest, being heard, and being accountable to each other. Over the course of the series, the room changed. Students who had been in conflict learned to repair. Students who had been silent learned to speak. The relational muscle got stronger because it was exercised, not just explained.
That is what a series does. It builds the capacity that a single session introduces.
